Poezijaplus was launched in November 1999.

The group organises a literary encounter every month at the Manoel Theatre's Courtyard.

Every encounter is given a particular theme. Through Poezijaplus the general public had the opportunity to listen to authors like Charles Flores, Victor Fenech, Albert Marshall, Alfred Sant and Trevor Zahra.
The group is very active on the social level too and from time to time it feels the need to comment on local and international realities.

The group was asked to animate a literary evening with the British poet Jay Ramsay as a guest.
The groups' aims are:
The conception of an internal voyage where literature is not regarded as just something normal but a must to our lives as we regard music.

To provide a different literary space from the rest

To provide space for unknown but valid writers

To emphasise the need of social literature.
The group wants to pass along the basic message that the author is not a dreamer but it has an useful mission.
MANIFEST - POEZIJAPLUS
(Shortened version)
PP refers in this document and elsewhere to Poezijaplus.
The idea behind the founding of PP was that a group of people who wanted to embark on a voyage of sentiments can meet together regularly and share together their writings and ideas.
PP has not statues and as a point of reference and to avoid anarchy the organisation feels vital the role of a General Co-ordinator and a Public Relations Officer.
PP is an autonomous organisation which has no ties to other organisations not even with the Manoel Theatre; where its activities are held every last Monday of the month.

Although it uses its premises it has nothing to do with its policies and does fall within its regulations.
PP feels it its duty to cultivate, use and foster the Maltese language.
PP bounds itself to be a penetrating voice for the cause of those who society decides to condemn to its periphery.
PP associates itself with valid envoiremental activity and supports all those who work hard for the preservation of the Maltese cultural heritage.PP is ready to work with other partners in all spheres of arts.PP is a voluntarily organisation and so it receives no remuneration whatsoever.
